How Far Can We Fly?
Q: What is the bigger and more interesting looking plane you guys have added to your fleet?
A: The iconic DHC-2 “Beaver” is our most recent addition. Manufactured in 1952 by DeHavilland corporation of Canada, the Beaver STILL proves to be one of the best and most relevant bush planes today, despite having ended manufacturing in 1967. The curved design is reminiscent of the 1940’s design period.

Q: How far can we fly?
A: Generally, my rule of thumb is a maximum of 400 miles, however, depending on weather conditions like tail winds or head winds, this range may vary. Also limiting, is how many passengers we have on board. The more passengers carried, the less fuel we can carry, as the aircraft has a maximum gross weight that must be complied with. Our flight to Isle Royale is about 60 miles, leaving plenty of margin for both passengers and fuel.
Q: Do we offer scenic tours?
A: Our main business is transporting folks to Isle Royale, however on occasion we do scenic tours around the Keweenaw and the North Shore of Minnesota. Although the flight to Isle Royale is scenic, we do not fly special scenic tours of Isle Royale itself. Give us a call at the office to see how we could accommodate you! (906) 483-4991
